Access Log Manager
Find out more about the Access Log Manager and the data that may be inside.
An access log is a thorough list of all the files which were accessed by the guests of a particular Internet site. Any file which was requested for whatever reason shall be listed, so if you have only one webpage with three embedded graphics, one video and one embedded text file, as an example, the access log shall contain a total of six entries - one for each of the 6 files that were accessed when the site visitor opened the webpage. A log typically offers the file name and path, the date, along with the visitor’s Operating System, browser and IP address. Sometimes you can also find the referrer websites that sent the visitors to your site. The information an access log file contains is in human-readable plain text format. It can also be processed by special software on a laptop or computer and used to write reports on the overall performance of a site, independent of the web statistics that your web hosting server may have produced.
Access Log Manager in Shared Website Hosting
When you order a shared website hosting from our company, you'll be able to decide if access logs should be produced and for which domains or subdomains in your account this should be done. You may activate this option from the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, which comes with all shared accounts. Each domain name you host or subdomain you set up shall be listed there and you'll see an On/Off option next to each one of them, so you can quickly enable or disable the generation of access logs independently for every single website that you have. You'll be able to save a log to your personal computer by clicking on the Download link you'll see in the same section of the Control Panel. The link shall be available even if you disable the log generation, so you will still have access to the data compiled by our system.
